on a machine running win 98se

has anyone recently run the avg Repair Tool FOR avg 7.5 Free ( NOT Professional )version ?

if so from where did you obtain the tool ; this avg 7.5 FREE version does NOT have a firewall in it and at present the avg does not appear in the programs menu list although the avg icon is in the system tray and updated manually each day ;
OR is there any method for re-educating the AVG to re-enable the program to be listed IN My Programs?

(and this version of Windows does NOT have the system restore facility)

Sorry, link didnt work as I had hoped but if you put in 625 in the search box, it should come up with the answer.

If you download AVG free again and save it to your computer then install it, it will check your current AVG and then give you the option to repair or remove

After you dowmload each program file, save them on a backup CD or DVD.
Keep them in individually named folders with versions numbers and dates etc.

If you have an issue with a new update it's easy to return to the last working update.

due to the information on

seems like a good time to do a re-think for a workeable supported antivirus program
