I recently deleted some items in regedit to get rid of viruses. I have installed mcafee. Following the "clean up" I am having trouble with the internet. Can anyone recommend a cheap software to repair windows. The computer is a dell with windows 7 home premium.

Try running an elevated cmd prompt (type cmd in the search box, then right click the cmd that appears and click run as administrator). Then type sfc /scannow (note the space.) That will check if registry items are intact.
