RENAME LOTS OF FILES IN ONE GO????

I want to rename a lot of photo files in one go instead of one at a time. They are currently clouds1, clouds2 & so on up to clouds100. I want to rename them all to cclouds1 etc etc so I can copy them to another photo folder where existing files are currently the same names...i.e a bit of a clash of file names!

Any ideas?

Cheers.

In Windows Explorer, click on the first one, hold down Shift and click on the last one. Right click on the first one, Rename it and they should all rename.

click here Not only can you rename files, but resize or convert them in one go too. Renaming can be used for all file types, not just pictures. click here

No, you are right it doesn't.

Must have had a senior moment, sorry.

Alternativly a harder method would be to load command prompt

Start>Run>Cmd

and browse to your needed directory and use the ren (rename command)

For expample:

dir C:\Livewire\Docs
ren .doc .dot

Hope that helps :)

If you're in XP/My Pictures, Edit > Select All, right click on 1st one > Rename, key the new name, click out, rest will all be renamed as first one plus 1, 2, 3 etc
