Removing windows updates

I'm going to update my Aunts PC, as I've got the updates CD and her PC is relatively new. If there are any problems can they be removed, I know some can't but can you get around this with System Restore. TIA TR

I think they will show up in add/remove programs, if they do there is no problem.

As far as I'm led to believe you can only remove the updates which are listed under add/remove programs, the other updates are not removable even using system restore.

Don't some say once installed can't be removed, it's those she's worried about. Thats why she didn't update when she first got the PC. TR

Shame, she'll just have to trust me, favourite nephew and all that. TR

If it all works, you could be in the will. Good luck.!

With 98SE, running System File Checker and re-setting from the O.S. C.D. (if you have it) may put the O.S. back to it's original state, you could then instal the updates from the Security C.D. Just a suggestion, but I have done this without problems. No guarantee!
