What version of Windows?

I don't think that W2K has MSCONFIG - I stand to be corrected.

You are correct, VoG™, but you can use the msconfig from Win 98. If you don't have this, I'll email it to you, rob_absalom.

Excellent works great. could someone tell me the only two things i have to have in start up for the pc to function ok? i think it's explorer and one other but can't remember

  MAJ 23:15 04 Mar 2003

Sorry for that Rob, I just found the link above. I'm not overly familiar with Win 2000, so can't advise you what to have running and what not to have running. If you post a list of what you have running when you download msconfig, maybe someone more familiar with Win 2000 will be able to advise.

Systray, is the other one Rob. (We were typing at the same time)

Far better to go here to find out what services are required and their dependencies and disable as required via 2k services Tab.
