Removing Norton AntiVirus

When I had my computer upgraded to XP I was talked into Norton. Now one day later it has disabled itself with an error message. I have been to their website and done everything it says to no avail. I am going back to AVG, I assume I should uninstall Norton first. Will just the Add/Remove system be sufficient?

Yes it will - but I have Win XP home and Norton AV 2003 and it works very well.
