Removing Norton

  algernonymous 17:20 30 Mar 2007

I've just treated myself to my first notebook which has come with all software pre-installed. It has Norton Internet Security 2006 and tells me I will have to renew my subscription in 30 (now 29) days. So presumably this is a 30-day trial offer? However I would prefer to use AVG as I have it on my Desktop system and am familiar with it (and it's free!) So I've downloaded it and would now like to switch off Norton. But when I clicked on a 'disable' button it came back with 'this will completely remove Norton from your computer, do you wish to proceed?'
Is that what I should do?
