Removing Java updates

  The Mountaineer 11:48 17 Apr 2009

Just been doing a regular clean up of my C drive and noticed for the first time that I have a lot of Java updates totalling nearly 1Gb of space used. Specifically Java 6 updates 2,3,4,5,12 as well as J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0, Update7.
Does a later update supercede a previous one, or do I have to keep all these?
Advice appreciated.

You can safely remove the old ones

PS Java 6 Update 13 is the latest

have alook in c:\program files and look in the Java folder. You only need the latest update and the original Java runtime Environment listing. You can delete the others. No big deal, if it goes wrong just delete the lot and reinstall the latest version.

Thanks for this everyone. As suggested I deleted the lot and started again. I now have only Java 6, update 13 at only around 90Mb.
Ta all
