removing Icons from task bar

Hi, can please tell how to remove Icons from the left side of the task bar in winxp, I don't mean the system tray on the right side, I uninstalled a tv card,when I rebooted Icons from my desktop showed on my task bar if I delete one another one takes its place

Just right-click on an icon and choose Delete.

If you click on the double-headed arrow you may see the other icons, you can delete these in the same way.

Right click on the task bar and check that 'Lock the task bar' does not have a tick alongside it.

I forgot to mention that those icons on the left side of the Task bar are known as the Quick Launch icons. If you right-click on the Task bar and then hover over Toolbars make sure that there is no tick by Quick Launch.
