Remove items from System Tray

I have a nasty little programme called Spydawn which has found its way onto my computer. I have been on Add/Remove programmes and removed what I can of it. I have also searched all files and folders for Spydawn and anything found, I have deleted. Unfortunately, there is still a very annoying icon in the system tray, which pops up at intervals saying something about a system alert. Could someone please tell me how to get rid of this. I`ve run all my anti virus software, ad ware, spybot and crap cleaner but still it persists. Thanks.

Have a look in the startup files and see if the programme can be stopped there.START/RUN/MSCONFIG/Startup. If you see it uncheck the box to stop it loading at startup.
