Remove Internet Explorer

I have recently installed Firefox which is excellent and I now want to rid my system of Internet Explorer for good. It is being reluctant to go. How do I do this?

You can't - it is needed by Windows.

Set Firefox to be your default web browser and just forget about IE. It is not doing any harm left where it is unused !

Thanks for your help folks. I will just ignore IE and use Firefox.

you may still need ie for some sites that require activex so its allways worth keeping hold of

and you can remove it via add remove programs in the control panel select windows components

though i wouldnt advise it for the reason stated above
