Removal of email addresses from net messenger

OS is Windows XP Pro.
When signing into Windows messenger, the .Net Messenger Service screen appears.
In the email address box, on the right is a downward pointing arrow which when clicked reveals the email addresses of those who have previously signed in to Windows Messenger on this computer.
Since I am using a public computer how do I prevent my email address from being automatically registered in this box, and how do I permanently delete any addresses there.
I have already tried Window washer but it doesn't seem to work. My email addresses are @hotmail.com
Many thanks.

When I opened .net messenger service sign in box and typed control userpasswords2 in the e-mail address section all I got was a message asking me to type in my full address.
Please advise further, many thanks.

No, you don't do it in messenger

Start, Run and type the command in the box and click OK.

Start > Run and type:

control userpasswords2

Click ok

Advanced > Manage Passwords > Highlight your email address and click remove.

That did it, thank you very much.
PS How did you know that that was what to do?
