I am the adninistrator and yet I am being denied access to most of the functions on my PC ie
regedit tweakui etc.
Adaware finds 2 registry entries that are preventing my access and when fixed i can then access the registry
HKEY USER S-1-21-134304091-176777739-725345543-500\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\POLICIES\SYSTEM"DISABLE TASKMGR"0

This problem returns on every boot up
Also Microsoft Antispyware has alerted me that RIVARTS.A(backdoor) is on my machine and although I remove it the problem returns on bootup
Adaware did not find this trojan
any help to remove these problems would be gratefully recieved
Scanned with updated Norton 2003 spyware doctor also
not sure where to go from here

Check your startup tab in msconfig;
-start-run-msconfig-ok

See if anything referring to the trojan is listed, if not, go throught the list and write down anything you don't recognise. Go online to google and search for those items one at a time, in most case they will be ok, it throw up what is causing this trojan to be reinstalled on startup.

It may be a good idea to take a look at the services tab as well.

Hope this helps.

PS. naturally, if it is listed, untick it, you will then have to reboot for these changes to take effect.
