Remote surveillance via webcam in carehome?

Not sure eit there's an easy solution to this. A friend has an elderly relative in a carehome - I believe with severe dementia - they visit often but wondered about some kind of webcam so they could check up on remotely using a PC or other means. I stress this will be overt NOT secret - with the agreement of the Carehome - I believe they are sinoply looking ot reassure themselves and give themselves some space, I think though they are not impressed with the care, it isn't to film the staff etc, it will have ot be fixed view in the relative's room.

I think it unlikley the care home will allow a BB connection setup required for webcamm etc even if it was all paid for by the friend, but anyone any suggestions for a possible workable solution? The carehome is about 5 mile or so form the relative's home.

Persnnely i would let the care home get on with it,im not sure i would like a camera on me watching my every movement.

I know, but as I said, they are not inpressed with the care, and it might reassure and avoid them having to chekc up every day as now, I don't wan to go into details, that's between them and the carehome, the enquiry is purely from a technical point of view,

I've found a couple of specialised companies via Google and given them the info - they're not very net savvy - Anyway they can findout for themselves I'm not getting any further involved.

If I was the care home owner/manager, I would suggest that your friend arranges for a transfer for his/her elderly relative to another care home as soon as possible.
