Reinstalling firefox with previous settings

  VNAM75 16:31 04 Sep 2009

I want a fresh installation of firefox but want it to remember my forum, ebay etc user names and passwords, and also pages I have visited. What's the easiest way to do this?

I think when you uninstall the old one it will ask you if you want to keep your personal settings.
See if anyone else gives a better explanation.

rawprawn is right.

Your personalised info is saved in the Profiles folder, which will have a path similar to C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\wstid0m3.default

May be an idea to backup the folder & contents, so all is not lost if it doesn't quite work as intended. G

Thanks both.

Following on from Crossbow7's suggestion you could use Mozbackup click here to completely backup your profile.
This will save absolutely everything from your previous installation passwords/bookmarks/themes and extensions and is very handy if you find that changing your firefox installation has corrupted your profile.... which can happen.
