I have a file on my C drive called Regback. I take it that it is a backup of the registry. It is 66 Mbytes. Should it be that big?

Hi -pops-, the link you gave quotes, "Regback.asm is a backdoor for NT written in assembly language." My file 's full name is regback.reg. I thought it seems rather large for a registry backup.

I backed up the file and removed it. Restarted the computer with no problems and the file has not reappeared. I still wonder what it is.

just looking at this post

Are you sure you mean 66 Megabytes and not KB's?

It's okay Coaster3, it's a backup of all your registry, 66MBs is about right for that.

yep you are right

i just backed my complete registry and its about that size

Strange - I've just done one to test[ME]and it's only 11mb.Or could Coaster3's be a file of the default 5 registries? - in which case it would be about right.

Who'd have thought you get so much [email protected] into such a small space, Eh, madboy33™? LOL ;-)

I guess there's a lot more stuff in XP, leo49. If it's XP the rest of us are using.
