Reg. Tweak to re enable SNDVOL.exe ?

  kimjhon 20:49 29 Jun 2003

I have re installed my sound card drivers.
My volume control has been disabled. When d/clicking the SNDVOL.exe there is no response.
Could any kind person walk me through a registry change to get it back, please ?

It is possible (note *possible, not *probable*) that you have a Trojan installed on your system, which hijacks sndvol.exe - this *could* be why sndvol is not triggering your volume.

Do a search for IE0199 on your system, and see click here (scroll down to IE0199.exe), click here and click here for further information

Thanks very much.

You would not believe it but I've gone and misled you like the idiot I am.

The file that wont activate is actually SNDVOL32.exe which resides in Windows rather than Windows/System.

Have done a search for all three files :
Sndvol.exe , MPREXE.dll , and IEO199.exe and am clear.

Here's hoping your efficiency my help someone else if they have the trojan and do a search.
