reformatting external hard drive

Just been bought a western digital external hard drive,but it is preformatted with FAT32.How do I reformat it to NTFS. I have windows XP.

Think you can do it in disk management,right click my computer,manage,disk management,highlight drive, right click, select format. There should be the option to select NTFS

My Western Digital came with an instruction leaflet. Give the UK number a phone call and ask for the leaflet. Otherwise the advice above should work. You may have to first of all after you see the drives in management, right click in the little rectangle which has the drive number in it and select DELETE PARTITION, that is what I had to do with mine, then follow up with FORMAT.
