Reformat HDD from MS DOS floppy?

Does anyone out there know how to reformat a hard drive completely from a MSDOS Boot floppy?

Insert the floppy into the drive start the computer to boot from the floppy, if this does not happen you will have to enter the bios and chanke the boot options, when the A:/ prompt appears type format c:\ or whatever the drive is you want to format and follow the instructions. this is assuming that you are not using xp

First, what you do depends whether you have one or more partitions on it, and whether you want to change that.

To format a drive at the A: prompt, after booting with the floppy, you type

format c: (ret)

where (ret) = hit the return key.

If you want to format a drive other than C, you just use the letter you want to reformat in place of the c

If you want to change the partitions on the drive, you use fdisk before you format.
