Red patches covering images on Yahoo

I log into my email (Yahoo.com)regularly but for a while the images on the homepage have been covered in red. This seems to be getting worse as I cannot see the sign in area now.
I have done some simple trouble shooting with my limited knowledge e.g. deleting temporary internet files, cookies, saved passwords etc and have made sure zones are set to default level. I had a pop up blocker on and tried turning this off. Nothing has worked so far and I was shocked to get onto PC Advisor site and see that there is big red squares on this too!
Can anyone help - I can follow instructions well but am not confident with computers.
Thanks

Thanks Ditch 999 but now I'm completely lost. Had a look at the link but it is beyond me. I'm grateful for your suggestions anyway. Will have to get someone to look at it. Cheers.
