Recreating Pictures

  GeeKay+Dee 23:08 07 Jun 2003

I've saved a picture into my documents, but I can't seem to be able to adjust the size of it. I'm trying to make an A5 size picture so as to create a card (i.e. A4 folded). Picture is currently smaller than A5. Any ideas on how to change this? Cheers.

in a graphics program to do this, and even then your ability to enlarge the image will depend on its format.

If you've saved it from a web site it will be a JPEG or Gif, and in both cases enlarging the image size will result in a loss of quality. Web images have been compressed, and are usually quite small physically. They don't enlarge at all well, although you can try.

If your image is a bitmap you'll be OK.

If you open the picture into a DTP program like MS Publisher or Serif Pageplus you can set it where you want on the page and resize. FE's comments on quality still apply.

Another tip for you.

Make sure you save the full size picture and not just the thumbnail.

This might sound like the obvious, but I think we've all done it at one time or another :)
