Is it possible to use a DVD recorder (under the TV type)to record onto CDRs to view TV/films on a laptop that only has a CD Rom drive?I appreciate that the quality will be lower, buts that's a problem. Thanks,
wouldn't think that would be a standard feature of a home dvd recorder.
"but that's a problem" ??meant 'that's NOT a problem' (fat fingers)I thought that maybe as PC based DVD writers can write to CDRs that this 'backward compatibility' might apply to the under the TV ones.
to play a DVd you do need both a DVD player and the related software. There are programs which allow films to be placed on CD, but again you need the DVD drive.Dependant on your system replaceing the CD drive or even adding a DVD reader should not be a great problem
It's not a feature I've seen.As sharpamatt says get your laptop cd drive upgraded, shouldn't be expensive.
Thanks for the replies, the lappy is a Compaq EVO 610c and the only DVD rom drive I seen for it was about £80 !
This link is a replacement DVD duel format rewriter for laptops, click hereIts under £70 and Ive no doubts there are other cheaper options also external ones ( USB2 ) for less
