recommended RAM for laptop

My laptop - an Acer Aspire 1355LC is very slow at times. I use it for surfing the net, photo editing, light office work (i.e. not for gaming). It has 192MB RAM and I think that is barely enough to run its Windows XP operating system. What should I upgrade it too without going over the top ?

Yes. What virus protection are you using out of interest?

Ok. Be aware that laptops arent easy to upgrade. Look up click here and get it to scan your pc. It will tell you what your laptop can take.

You probably have a 256MB already. Another 256MB will make you up to 512MB will read as 448MB because 64MB is being used by your Graphics Engine.

That jump will revitalise your laptop as will any more that you add, but it is, very much, a case of diminishing returns.
