My Laptop seems to be running quite hot and am wondering whether it is responsible for one or 2 little annoyances it's been giving me lately. Please can youu recommend a free CPU Monitor I could d/load ?

'Lo VoG™ , OK installed that. How do I know the optimm temps for my system, Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz ?

Thank yo So Afraid,

SpeedFan up and working, it's telling me that the temperatures are:

Core 0: 63°c
Core 1: 62°c

Both values have flames beside them! I assume this is telling me they're too hot? How can I cool them down please? It's a Toshiba Sattelite Pro L300-1AQ and is 2 years old tomorrow.

Try making sure all the air vents are free of fluff/dust.

Both vents look totally cear of fluff/dust, VoG™. I use one of those Lap boards when using, so not on fabric/carpet as an example, that might inhibit air flow...

A lot of varied temps here which sorta puts yours into context.
One suggestion in the link was to replace the thermal paste on CPU...

That link Mat, is VERY informative! If the info is correct, then mine DOESN'T seem to be running that hot after all! Am I just being paranoid???????????

  MAT ALAN 18:33 14 Feb 2011

Always good to ere on the side of caution, if you know someone who could replace the thermal paste you might see a dramatic difference...

I don't, but thanks Mat and everyone for your help.
