A friends either board & CPU has recently died and he has replaced it with a rather nice Dell system, rather than scrap the old one we are looking for a new board and CPU, at a budget price that he can pass on to his grandchild, we would like to be able to use the old sd ram, any ideas on spec and supplier please ?

I should add that Graphics card or Sound card is not important as we have salvaged old ones, the machine will only be used for home work + occsional games but not heavy demands being made.

Evening woodchip,

I tried something similar a few years back. I think it was free of a PC Pro disk. If I remember rightly, you had to say so many thousand words to get it right. needless to say I never got that far :-(

Anyway, goodluck with it, hope it goes well for you.

New keyboard looks good, typing is crisp and accurate.;-)
