What is a reasonable bite rate (i.e. keep as much quality as can be) to convert CD to MP3. My ears are not very musical.
128kbps at 44kHz is the norm and sounds good enough to my ears.
The programme I use (Wismp3) converts at 128/44 as well. As Peverelli says, sounds good to me.
any point to go uo to 160?
I doubt if you'll notice the difference [especially if your "ears are not musical" ;-) ], it'll only gobble up more space on your hard drive.
