Hi

i am ruuning windows 2000 pro as a client on a 2000 server network.

when i log in with my user account, my computer is terribly slow and the proccessor is at full usage.

I have worked out that when i stop a proccess called "realsched.exe" my computer returns to normal speed.

How can i get rid of this annoying realsched.exe?

cheers

How to Disable RealPlayer realsched.exe

- Launch RealPlayer
- Click on the Tools and choose Preferences
- Under the Automatic Services category, choose Message Center
- Press the button marked "Configure Message Center"
- UNCHECK the option labeled Checking - Check for new messages
- Choose Yes when the warning pops-up

If you haven't already, run MSCONFIG to remove it from your startup configuration as well.

From click here

Hope this helps

Is it in the menu as System Configuration, under System Tools?

It's not in Win2K. Use Autoruns instead (much better) click here

An even better idea would be to uninstall Real Player, which is a bloated waste of resources, and install Real Alternative, click here .

While your at it dump Quick Time and get Quick Time Alternative from the same site.
