Read only access and iTunes!

Dear all

I have windows 7 home edition. When I installed it I was wary of losing my iTunes libraries etc. What I did in the end was copy the whole iTunes folder to an external hdd then copied it back into the route folder in "my music". When I installed iTunes it recognised it all and it was fine.

However it would always say that I didn't have the access privileges to save the library file. Very annoying. So I right clicked on the WHOLE iTunes folder and unticked read only. I applied the changes and hit ok. However when I right click that folder again it has read only ticked again.

How can I get rid of read only access? Or is this even the right approach? Anyone else have this problem with iTunes.

While I am here, I also lost my library files and playlists (just today actually). Is it possible to copy them from my iPhone to iTunes?

Thanks in advance!!
