Does anybody know of a program to make a w2k computer reboot every 12 hours automatically?
I have a spare setup as a router and it keeps
trying to dial out twice after a 2 hour drop on the line, sometimes it ok other times it gets hung up trying to dial, a re-boot fixes it.
A program running in the background would help.

Thanks Storm

Well Windows XP has the shutdown.exe command that you can run from the start menu.

Start > Run > type:

shutdown -r -t 43200

Click ok and the 12 Hour countdown begins.

Not sure if this is available in Windows 2000 but theres only way to find out ;-)

It would require you to do this command on each reboot. Thats if it works.

click here Poweroff can be scheduled to reboot every day, as can windows shutdown click here I can't find one that can be set to a 12 hour interval.

this script will reboot the computer. save it in your windows foder (or anywhere you like) with the extension .vbs . then use the windows task scheduler to run it every 12 hours.

Wouldn't it be better to find and eliminate the source of the error?
