Re-authoring DVDs

  Rogerfredo 09:27 04 Sep 2004

I recently transferred some of my son's DV tapes to my hard disc for burning to DVD.
Using Windows Movie maker worked fine, and I then converted the AVI file to MPEG using some other software I had.
The problem came when I tried to create the necessary DVD files for burning.
My version of Nero (v5.5) does not cover this, but Nero Vision Express 6 does.
Unfortunately, you apparently have to upgrade the whole Nero package to v6 to get this, and I don't want most of the other applications.
Does anyone know of a (preferably free) program to re-author DVD?

Thanks but I already have these.
Neither of them will "author" a DVD from MPEG files, but are good for backing up existing DVDs.

Thanks for replies.
The Nero upgrade price seems the cheapest route so far.

I have purchased WinDVD Creator 2 Gold from Intervideo for £19 (after a free trial download).
For anyone else considering occasional DVD authoring, this is one of the most logical packages around.

can be upgraded on a months free trial, after the month is up you can extend it for another month.
hope that helps
