Re-assigning drive letters

I recall a post some time back about the above but can't find it. Can anyone tell me how to manually assign a letter of choice to a drive which the PC cannot change automatically when the drive is disconnected and then re-connected.

Start>Run>compmgmt.msc and use Disk Management. Right click and select the drive you want to change then right click on it and select Change Drive letter and Paths.

Assuming XP or Vista, right click (My) Computer and choose manage, then Disc Management. Right click the drive and choose Change drive letter and Paths
