random rebooting or freezing

I have been asked to look at a pc that sometimes takes 3 or more attempts to load windows. Other times it crashes after a few minutes or can run several hours before crashing or freezing. This pc has been thoroughly cleaned to ensure there is no heat build up due to hair/dust etc. The memory has been tested using Mem test and shows no errors at all. All fans are running. It is an AMD xp 1800+ with 1GB of ram and 128MB graphics card running xp pro sp2. The only error found in event viewer is DCOM 100005. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have put in another psu - when I try to run adaware or spybot s&d it immediately reboots. It also will not allow trend micro to run housecall. I think it has a nasty and needs a reformat and reinstall.
