RAM Types

Can I mix 64Mb PC100 ram with PC133 128Mb Ram. My lad's PC has 3 Memory slots and I am unsure as to whether I can cross mix them.

I plan to do 128Mb then 2 x 64MB.

Thanks in anticipation

you can mix them - its not ideal but it just about works. If you can set the motherboard to run at 100mhz then it will be better than trying to push the 64mb ones to run at 133 which will cause crashes etc

It will proberly be cheaper to buy 1x128mb stick, than 2x64mb. Just a thought.

Noooooo. I would not suggest that. Scrap the 64 and get a 256Mb PC133 and keep your 128Mb PC133.

Dont need any more than that in 98 but if it is XP then go to 512 by having 2x 256. And even an extra 128.

But never mix frequencies, especially if the board is auto speed detection.
