RAID in Vista - double performance or too soon?

  GabrielKnight 20:44 07 May 2007

I've just bought a new, high spec laptop. 1x 160Gb 7200rpm hard drive would be good, but this laptop has 2. I don't thinks I would ever have enough info to need the next drive (don't argue with me, I won't use this capacity) so wondered if I could use it in some kinda RAID situation under Vista.

No info on the net about this yet so....

Can I set this up (under Vista) so the 2nd drive is read at the same time (fast, fast faster) or the 2nd drive mimics the 1st (a copy,in case).

Thanks in advance.

Might be better in the Vista Forum as they would know about driver issues etc.
One thing I can say though in order to use RAID you need a RAID controler if you laptop doesn't have the RAID facility then you can't use it.
