Gents.....i have a irratating problem with my Graphics card.....my set up is as follows.....Amd Athlon 3000 processor.....Radeon 9700 pro graphics.....8x agp motherboard (MS-6712).... 1024 ddr 2700 333mhz ram....my psu is 520 watts......audigy 2 sound card......Cutting it short .......my benchmark ...via madonion 2001 .....is 13800.....far better than when benchmarked with my nvidia ti4600 installed but and its a big but......when running any graphics draining programme...the game/benchmark screen stutters along noticibly.......Why???? when using the same set up but with ti4600 installed i get no stuttering or very occasional crashing....and as i've mentioned ...my benchmark...is superior with radeon card installed.....i have the latest drivers ???....Regards.....Alan

NVidia drivers leave all sorts behind when uninstalled.... Have you checked there are no traces left.

click here for the registry entries

Try going Start/Run and type in

msconfig

and on the Startup tab make sure there are no entries there.

Go into the BIOS and make sure the AGP is set to 8X (if the card is 8X) and the AGP is 256 and try enabling Fast Write.

Hi Friend....AGP is set at Auto.....and an option doesn't seem available to change this....Fast write is enabled.........128mb now changed to 256mb.... in the bios.....is this ok......if yes....... then ......please advise of other potential problem fix....regards .....Alan

Are you using Direct X 9, this card was desinged to run with it.

  AndySD 11:00 13 Mar 2003

are you using the KTV3 (VIA® Apollo KT333) or KTV4 (VIA® Apollo KT400)

Both use the VIA chipset and you should have no problems using the via hyperion drivers.

i'm using the above .....Regards.....Alan
