+R or +RW DVD Discs

Hi there

Can anyone help with a query on what type of blank DVD disc will give the most secure long-term storage reliability, +R or +RW. I have a stack of home movies & photos that I would like to transfer, edit & burn to DVD & would like to be secure in the knowledege that they may still be readable in years to come. Many thanks in advance of any reply.

i dont think the format is that important if just being used on your computer but if wanting to play in a home dvd player then obviously go for a disc format your home dvd will read.

if you purchase good quality discs and look after them well then there is no reason they should not last...unless of course you upgrade your dvd drive or home player in the future again.

certain burners are choosy when it comes to brand of disc.

ps.if you purchase a multi format dvd burner then you can try different media/brands etc and see what works best for you.
