Quickest way to transfer music files

  griffo 18:40 17 Mar 2007

I want to transfer a lot of music files from one PC to another. As there's around 5Gb of music files, I guess this could take a while. I would burn it to DVD but the host PC only has a CDRW.

I have RJ45 cables, can I use one to connect the 2 PC's and transfer the files that way? The PC's are already networked but the Host PC is on a wireless connection, so that would make things a lot slower, wouldn't it?

Advice would be appreciated please.

My way would be to take the drive out of the first PC and add as a slave to the second. Then copy the files across.

thanks for the replies folks, so I'm late getting back to you. I used an external HD in the end, much as DS suggested.
