Just about to buy following items to upgrade PC. Any obvious issues/ommissions anyone can mention (Compatability etc).
Seagate ST3250310AS 250GB Hard Drive SATAII
MSI P6N SLI-F v2 650i SLI Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz 1333FSB Socket 775
Crucial 1GB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 Memory
I'm sticking with existing ATX case, CD/DVD drives, PNY GeForce FX 5700 128Mb graphics.
Only do general kinda stuff, a few low end games, so not looking for any specific target for achievement. Any obvious bad moves?
Cheers

Get 2 sticks of memory for dual channel support and watch out for your old graphics card as it just might be AGP and your new motherboard is probably PCIE

XP SP2 at present, toying with the idea of Vista and Linux.

Bugger!!!! that's why I asked you lot, I knew I'd miss something, graphics card is AGP and mobo is PCIE. Hmmm what to go for now, is setup worth sticking with and replace graphics, or better option to change mobo?

PS, I didn't mention, but I am getting 2 x 1GB sticks.

Get a PCIE graphics card. A decent one only costs about £60-70.
That mobo will take faster memory. Was cost an issue when you picked PC5300?

Once you have all that lot up and running you will have to re-activate your XP.
