Hello all

pc has been running fine until my son managed to pull the power cord out at the wall. now, when i logg in pc loads up fine up to the point where the xp logo comes up.

the pc then flashes the following message fro about half a second (i had to capture this on vid cam to view it) and pc restarts. safe mode = same problem

check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed if this a new instalation. ask your hardware or software manufacture for any windpws update you may need

if the problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. disable bios memory options such as cahing or shadowing

i have checked connections to everything. remvoed and replaced ram and no sofware has been down loaded for some months

help!!

Instead of Safe Mode try Last Known Good Configuration.

also tried this, along with other 2 safe modes. still the same message

Only two options, Borrow or buy a CD. As I would say that only a Repair will work. If you do not have a Image to restore as Acronis True Image.

Pulling the plug as corrupted the drive files

is there a way to purchase another xp online and burn to CD

plus i really dont want to wipe everything on my pc

Doing a repair won't wipe your files (although some may have been damaged if the HDD was being accessed when the plug was pulled).

The easiest is to borrow an XP CD (same flavour - Home or Professional) then repair as per my link.
