Hi, I know that all "users" on a computer can share the same files, but if you want to change something in a word document, and then save it, it wont let you as it says (read only) on top of the document, how can I make it so all uders can change thing in word on a saved document please.....Thanks

pooperscooper, are you talking of sharing files on a network, or just on your computer?

Not sure what you mean, I have a home computer which all the family share?.....

pooperscooper, then if no passwords are set any one can start the computer and do what ever they want. The computer does not know who started it

more than one user on my PC so I'm guessing on this...

Suppose a user opens a word document, and doesn't close it...

then you switch users...

The second user opens the same word document.

In those circumstances you may well get what you're experiencing.

Good luck,

Simsy
