I know this is not PC related but I know you will help if you can. For a project of mine does anyone know if there is a downloadable excel file that lists every car in the UK?

For example:-
Ford Escort 1.6 Mk 4 04/90-08/95
Ford Escort 1.6 Mk 5 08/95-09/00

And so on....

Perhaps write -- yes with a pen, whatever that is---All the car manufacturers in the Alphabet eg Allard , Austin, Alvis etc and then try and contact the owner's club and see if they can help.
Maybe you will have to enter the information yourself. Excell can do the job but I would prefer a spreadsheet

You don't need Excel - they are motor cars.

VoG what sort of reply is that. If you can't say anything constructive don't bother at all. I am sure Daz could do without useless comments like that.

they must of built the website using some sort of database/spreadsheet
explain your project and see if they can help you out?
if they cant, use the make/model dropdowns and get as much info as you can.

"Excell can do the job but I would prefer a spreadsheet"

I thought Excel did spreadsheets?

I think in suggesting Excel the poster was merely suggesting it be used to transcribe the lists into a usable format.

For quite some time Fords of Winsford (it's the outlet's family name rather than the manufacturer), a respected Cheshire giant car supermarket, used Excel in spreadsheet form on its website to list the hundreds of cars it had available for sale.

It's a more modern layout these days, but the spreadsheet served its purpose well.
