Question about wireless connection.

  pcbobby 14:39 19 Mar 2007

I know absolutely nothing about wireless Internet connection.

I currently use SpeedTouch 330 USB modem, 512KB (Tiscali)
The PC is near the in coming BT socket.
My PC is AMD 1.8Mhz. OS XP Home. SP2.
Has NVIDIA nForce networking controller. (Not sure if this relevant!)

I would eventually like to move the PC to another location in the house.
To save using many metres of cable, is it possible to use a wireless facility?
If so, what exactly do I need to purchase?

Thank you Fruit Bat.
Re the list of wireless cards, are thee any you would suggest?

I would suggest you buy a "package" tthatt is a modem router and card together then you know they will be compatible.

I use an Orange Livebox (free) my PC had a wirless card built in and I bought an adaptor for the laptop.

Other people will probably recommend a wireless card.
