Question about PC Card Slot?

  Re-staw 13:39 09 Nov 2009

Hi, currently trying to install some SATA drives onto my laptop.

I dont know if my Laptop is IDE or SATA, how can i check?

Also i have a PC card slot for which i am prepared to buy a PCMCIA serial express card from ebay but again i am unsure if this will be compatable.

I am so confused about SATA, IDE and different PC cards, can anyone shed some light for me?

`.. install some SATA drives onto my laptop.`

How do you mean, replace the existing with another drive? And why plural, do you have room for more than one in the laptop?

`I dont know if my Laptop is IDE or SATA, how can i check?`

Look in Device Manager under Disk Drives and then Google the drive details, or, identify the laptop and look at the specification, or, look in the manual.

`... PCMCIA serial express card ...`

It should tell you in the manual or specification.
