Query re. Recycle'

Anyone now what the files 'Recycled' and RECYCLER' mean?
When I expand the 'Recycled' file, most files are .XLS numerically ordered.
I haven't tried to open one, since I am not sure what they are!

Looks like they are temporary Excel files

Your system will have one "Recycle Bin" which references deleted items, but each drive has a "Recycle" folder where the actual deleted items are held pending emptying of the Recycle Bin.

You should not touch the "Recycle" folder - just empty the "Recycle Bin" as and when you want to.

BTW, you'll probably find the "Recycle" folders are only visible if you have your system set up to show hidden files and folders.

Slight correction - references to "Recycle" folders should have read "Recycler" folders.
