PSU Question

  poogles_uk 20:03 18 Feb 2004

My computer is fairly noisy, is it possible that it is my PSU? As the fans etc are all reasonably quiet.
Does the Enermax EG365P-VE have a wire for connecting to mobo fan sensor?

you can check what is making noise by unplugging the motherboard from the psu and then shorting the green and any black wire on the atx connector. This will cause the psu to turn on, if the sound is similar then the psu is making the noise, if the noise is less then its probably the processor fan

Has the noise suddenly started or has it always been like that or is it getting progressively worse ???

  Robotic_Rob 21:06 18 Feb 2004

What sort of a noise does is it?

  poogles_uk 18:37 19 Feb 2004

A wurring noise.

Its always like that.

Yes yes the noise is less however it is still similar. I think it is between the CPU Fan (will be changeing when i upgrade my CPU) and the Old PSU (i need to change it anyway) and possibly my heat extractor fan at the back which i use as the exhaust fan!!

Do you mean the sensor for the rear fan in the psu itself??

  poogles_uk 18:58 19 Feb 2004

I mean a cable from the PSU fan to be connected to the mobo PWR 3 pin fan plug to monitor speeds.
