PSU might be on it's way

My daughters PC has 2 hard drives and 2 optical drives, first the second hard drive disappeared so I said reboot and when it came back on it was asking for system disk and I could hear a clicking noise from the drive, so when I tried using the optical drives to run the seagate diagnostic tools both of those were dead. When I unplugged everything except primary drive the clicking had stopped but still would not boot. I have come to the conclusion that the PSU is on it's way out.

Have I overlooked anything obvious?

Unfortunately not, but if it's not won't hurt to have a spare.

If it said it couldn't find an OS then I think the C:\ drive has failed.

I think you are correct the psu failing to power the 12v rails to the drives sound favourite
