Protection fault

This problem is driving me nuts. I've got all the latest drivers for my graphics card for my OP system which is Windows XP Pro.
My graphics card is the "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra".

Periodicaly when playing on line games, the game will freeze sending back the message "Nview has caused a general protection fault". I then have to exit the application and reload the game again.

The event viewer displays the fault but has no assistance how to fix the problem.

This is particularly annoying because I host a server of my own and when this happens I loose all my players. Can someone please help?

Problem: General Protection Faults in Unreal-based Games

Solution: Follow all the tips in this guide to start with. More specifically:

# Reduce or completely remove any overclocking
# Reduce your AGP Aperture Size to 64MB
# Ease the CAS timings on your RAM (See Adrian Wong's BIOS Guide under the BIOS section)
# Make sure if you use two or more RAM sticks that they are equivalent speed and CAS rating
# Optimize your Windows Virtual Memory settings (See Windows Optimization below)
# Disable Fast Writes
# Test your RAM (See Windows Optimization below)
