Programs do not install

  buddiebuoy 10:13 03 Oct 2005

Running Windows XP Home SP2.

I have tried to install 2 programs from CD recently and keep getting the same return error

'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.'

Once of these programs - Dune 2000 - was previously installed and run without any problem.

The other is now running on a friends PC who has Windows 98.

VoG™'s solution looks easier, try that first.
