Program blocking in a wireless router?

  martd77 11:26 14 May 2008

hi my son has a penchant for online games which suck up the bandwidth so much that sometime my internet is at a crawl.
My main pc is on 10mb cable broadband which is attached to a belkin 5d7231 wireless router which feeds my two kids pcs and my wifes laptop.

Getting my son off the internet is a struggle in itself,is there a way that i can block him from playing these games if i need to?WOW and GUNZ are the main culprits

thanks any advice appreciated

Since all his traffic will have to go through the server of some kind of service provider, you could make a entry for its IP in Web Filtering. Add a schedule if desired. A bit of a sledgehammer solution perhaps.

Bit over my head that! i was looking for some setting in the wireless router that would help sort this out

That's a simple solution and it is in the router.
