Problems with Windows Media Player codecs

Hello all. I am trying to play a series of .mpg's through media player and its refuses to play some of them saying 'error downloading codec'. The files play fine on another machine in the office. Both machines have WinXP Pro running. Can anyone tell me how to get round this?

try the divx dodec from click here although run spybot and adaware afterwards as you get a couple of "freebies" thrown in.

Are all the codecs enabled from File Types?

media player click on tools, options then file types.
